Brand History

Free People is a Philadelphia-based women’s wear brand established by Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Bulldog clothing owners, Dick and Meg Hayne in the 70s. IN 2001, Free People came back stronger than ever, this time it shed its junior image and went for the more mature market. Today, Free People has over 1,000 specialty stores across the country and internationally. Free People is also available online via
