Quintin: Finely Crafted Headwear Made in Los Angeles

by Karmaloop Rep Code

Starting out as a collection of headwear in 2009, Quintin has evolved into a complete lifestyle brand offering a stylish line of snapbacks, 5-panels, and cut and sew apparel.

In three short years, Quintin has firmly solidified its place in the fashion industry, both as an in-house brand and milliner to some of the most respected and recognized streetwear giants.

Drawing on the diversity of Los Angeles and the multicultural influences of its brand family, Quintin has always managed to separate itself from the pack by keeping a close focus not only on the final aesthetics of each hat but in the intricate details of each step during the creative process.

The product development team handpicks each individual element – fabric, color, top panel, crown, brim, clasp, patch, and embroidery – to make sure that each piece is unique and made to the highest quality standards.

Quintin’s expansion into cut and sew clothing has led to some cool pocket tees, cotton logo tees, baseball shirts, and sweatshirts with a number of practical features such as the iPhone pocket with cable router hole.

In 2010, Quintin collections began to hit the United Kingdom, offering regular and alternative 6-panels and trucker style 5-panels. Quintin’s first UK drop was for summer, with the headwear collection heavily splashed with pastel colors and embellished with subtle contrasting detail.

Persona x Quintin

Persona recently introduced its 2012 Summer Headwear Collection handcrafted in the USA by Quintin. The team chose two deadstock chambray colors – boysenberry and salmon – for the leather brim and strapback 6 panels. A clean plaid was used for summer and a simple all navy for the 5-panels. Only 30 units were produced for each color.

Quintin’s own 2012 Summer Collection includes a bulk of 5-panel camp caps in an array of all-over prints. Colorful graphics such as flowers, desert camo, party swirls, and geometric patterns are seen all over the range. The highlight style is the bamboo print with bold black lines separating the various tones of brown. There’s also a plain purple chambray option for the less flamboyant folks.

Fall 2012

The headwear collection for Fall 2012 features a couple of great snapbacks and 5-panels as well as different models for the colder season, including beanies and hunter hats complete with tie-down earflaps.

In the Fall 2012 drop, Quintin continues its transition to a full lifestyle brand with its new line of cut-and-sew hoodies, custom chinos, and other clothing items.

Quintin sponsors skateboarders and BMX riders in North America, the UK, the Netherlands, and Japan, including Chase Dehart, Aaron Ross, Pat Wang, Jackson Ratima, Jesse Whaley, Dan Lacey, Ben Lewis, Ben Green, Joss Fenn, and Dan Paley.
